KARACHI: Multan Sultans beat Peshawar Zalmi in nail-biting PSL-V match at the National Stadium Karachi as Zalmi managed to lose from a winning position in their last round-robin match.
Given the task to defend 14 runs in the last over, the inexperienced Shafiq bowled two head-high no-balls, one of which was dispatched for four. But Zalmi tail, chasing a mere 155, still wasn’t able to track down the target. Imam-ul-Haq top-scored for Zalmi in the unsuccessful run chase with 56, whereas Zeeshan Ashraf had done the same for the Sultans in the first innings.
The victory for Multan means they now have 14 points. Zalmi finished their league stage campaign with 9 points and will now have to rely on other results to qualify for the playoffs.
